Antique map showing parts of Maine and Canada from Jedediah Morse's Universal Geography published in 1796. This was before Maine was a state (granted statehood in 1820), and when Prince Edward Island was called Isle of St John. Maine counties of York, Cumberland, Lincoln, Hancock, and Washington with early boundaries. Along the east side of the area labeled Washington County it says "Eastern Boundary of the United States." Casco Bay, Portland, Moosehead Lake, Schoodic Lake, Portsmouth NH, and Mount Desert are all noted. The Canada portion includes New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, the Magdalen Isles, St Lawrence Bay and River, etc. Very good condition with slight foxing/stains and a tiny hole on the right side near neatline. Measures approx. 7 x 9 inches to the neatline.
