Antique printed color pictorial map of part of Virginia, by Hugo Stevens, published by the Tudor Press and copyrght A.H. Miles, 1930. Shows the peninsula between the James and York Rivers in Virginia and three historically significant colonial towns there, with historical information focusing on the period between the establishment of the first English settlement in Jamestown in 1607 and the surrender of Cornwallis in Yorktown, which ended the Revolutionary War in 1781. (The Battle of Williamsburg in 1862 during the Civil War is also included.) The illustrations depict notable buildings and monuments, events, scenes from colonial life, and portraits of historical figures such as Captain John Smith, Chief Powhatan, and George Washington. Overall good condition with a repaired tear on the upper right side and some minor stains in the margins. Measures approx. 13.75 x 18.25 inches to the border.
