Antique hand-colored map of North Carolina, from S. Augustus Mitchell's "A New Universal Atlas, Containing Maps of the Various Empires, Kingdoms, States and Republics of the World, With a Special Map of Each of the United States, Plans of Cities, etc.", 1849. Two inset maps: one of the area near Newbern, and one of the Gold Region near Charlotte and Lawrenceville NC. Very good overall antique condition with minor toning, mild stains, some small tears at paper edges. Measures approx. 16 x 13 inches to the neatline.
