This is an 1878 (third) edition of an 1871 atlas, timeline of world history, beginning in 4004 BC, up to 1878, include stunning chromolithographs of biblical history and history of the great empires which are synchonized with each other, thus synchronological. Paper Mounted on linen, begins with stone-age tools, drawings of eminent historians, old world map showing major countries, and diagrams of different languages. End sheet includes a history of the American States, pictures of all of the presidents, and 14 scenes of American History. Very good overall antique condition with wear some wear along fold at the year 1600, outer boards are in good condition with some wear. The background color is more of a honey tone than these images show due to the lighting. The entire book - chart expands to 271" inches! The final image shows an idea for display.
