Antique black and white engraved map of the Aldgate Ward in London, England. From London Magazine, 1766. Text at top reads " This Plan is most humbly inscribed to William Craycraft Esq. Alderman of Aldgate Ward." Shows the Navy Office, several churches and synagogues, the Ironmonger's Hall, East India Warehouse, the Bricklayer's Hall, and more. Features a decorative cartouche, illustrations of St. James' Dukes Place and St. Catherine Coleman, and a coat of arms of William Craycraft, Esq. Map shows names of major streets, outline of city blocks, and points of interest. Visible plate mark. Very good overall antique condition with some edge wear and two folds (as issued). Map measures approximately 6.5 x 9.25 inches to the neatline.
