1930/1970
Maker: W. Sears Nickerson.
Fascinating, unique map of Cape Cod, showing the route of the Pilgrims' first landing in America, marking the track of the Mayflower from daybreak, 6:30 AM, Thursday November 9, 1620, when she first made land at Nauset. With precise dates and times, travelling first southeast of Chatham through the dangers of Pollock Rip, then turning northward and travelling off the east coast of Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and around the north coast of Provincetown to land in Provincetown Harbor, at 10 AM, Saturday, November 11, 1620. It is unclear if this is a 1970 reprint of the 1930 map. Very good overall antique condition, with some minor wrinkles and creases, some waviness to the antique paper. Measures approx. 21 x 14.5 inches.
