Antique railroad map of the Eastern Railroad from Boston MA to York ME, published in a booklet titled The North Shore of Massachusetts Bay Seventh Edition 1884. The Eastern Railroad Company of Massachusetts was first chartered on April 14, 1836 and was a competitor of the Boston & Maine Railroad until the Boston & Maine put an end to the competition by leasing the Eastern in December 1884. The map shows the Eastern Railroad's lines in thick black, as well as connecting lines, towns, cities, topography, etc. The booklet features descriptive text about the route with engraved images and some small maps. Good condition, significant wear on outer cover, but interior of bookley intact. Map is printed on light-weight paper and folds out with some wear along the folds and small holes at the fold intersections. Map mesures approx. 17 3/4 x 9 3/4 inches to the neatline. Booklet measures approx. 7.5 x 4.5 inches.
