Antique hand colored map showing Wards 2 and 3, part of Brookline, Massachusetts, from the Brookline Mass. Atlas by the Sanborn Map Company of New York, 1925. Ward 2: Streets shown in this map are Commonwealth Ave, Naples Rd, Winslow Rd, Osborne Rd, Abbottsford Rd, and Babcock. Top of map shows Boston border. Landmarks on this map are several fire-proof buildings including a large building constructed in 1920, many frame buildings, some brick, stone and concrete buildings, and a fraternity house on the corner of Babcock and Winslow Rd. Reverse side shows Ward 3 of Brookline. Streets shown in this map are Commonwealth Ave, Babcock, Pleasant St, Adams, Elba, Copley, and Crowninshield Rd. Top of map shows Boston boundary. Landmarks on this map are several fire-proof buildings including the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Safety, a filling station, many frame buildings, some brick, stone and concrete buildings, and a fraternity house on the corner of Pleasant and Adams Rd. This map was added to and corrected over time to update buildings and streets. There are small rectangles of paper with updates glued to the page and the updates were recorded and signed in a table at the front of the atlas. Fair Antique condition; page is wavy, pencil marks from updates, some darkening at edges, overall light toning, edge has torn red leather atlas tab and an imprint from another atlas tab. Pencil marking can potentially be removed. Approx. 26.5" x 18".
