Antique hand colored map showing Wards 6 and 7, part of Brookline, Massachusetts, from the Brookline Mass. Atlas by the Sanborn Map Company of New York, 1925. Ward 6: Streets shown in this map are Commonwealth Ave, Amory, Dummer, Worthington, Cottage Farm Rd., Essex, Mason, and Ivy. Top of map shows Boston boundary. Landmarks on this map are Mason Square, several fire-proof buildings belongings to Auto Sales with several ramps, Auto Sales and Service, and Tire companies, many brick veneered buildings (vend.) at the center of the map, many concrete or cement brick buildings and red brick buildings. There are two buildings marked Hot House at the center and one filling station at the top. Reverse side of this map shows Ward 7 of Brookline. Streets shown on this side are Commonwealth, Mountfort (Carlton St Extension), Lenox (Mountfort), Essex, Prescott, Ivy, and Carlton. Landmarks on this side are B & A Rail Road tracks at the top, a Fire proof building housing an Auto Sales company with attached gasoline station, a filling station, some brick veneered buildings (vend.), and several other frame buildings and brick buildings. This map was added to and corrected over time to update buildings and streets. There are small rectangles of paper with updates glued to the page and the updates were recorded and signed in a table at the front of the atlas. Fair Antique condition; page is wavy, few pencil marks from updates, some light toning at edges, edge has red leather atlas tab and an imprint from another atlas tab. Pencil marking can potentially be removed. Approx. 26.5" x 18".
