Antique uncolored map of the southern United States, written in French. Includes a decorative cartouche. Map notes the locations of various Native American tribe settlements, topographical details, etc. This map is similar to SOU066 (in fact it is nearly identical) but it is impossible to guess why two nearly identical maps were produced with the only difference being the inclusion of Florida in the title. Perhaps it is related to the public's interest in Florida at the time (this was just before Spain gave Florida to England, at which time it was split into East and West Florida). Visible plate mark. With folds, as issued. Very good overall antique condition with some very mild toning throughout, as well as some minor foxing which is heavier at the outer edges. Measures approximately 8.75" x 12" (H x W) to the neatline.
