Genuine Antique Hand Colored Map

1850

Maker: Houze.

This hand colored antique French map, drawn by Victor Adam, was originally published around 1850. In English, this map's title is roughly translated to: Map of the Holy Land during the First Crusade. It shows the modern nations of Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Cyprus, Turkey and Jordan. French text at bottom gives details and provides a key to the color coding. It was published in the Universite de France's Atlas Universel Historique et Geographique. It is in good antique condition with moderate toning, foxing, burn from engraving on opposite page, and rough edges at bottom border. This map measures approximately 13.5 x 10.25 inches.
