Charming antique hand colored map of Lake Champlain, in French and English, showing landowners and landmarks including the Fort la Reine, now Ticonderoga, Lake George, and the "Orange or Hudsons River, by which on may go in five hour to Albany being not further than fifteen league, Albany lies on the Banks of the River has a swift stream and is very pretty." Published in the Documentary History of the State of New York, 1850, this is a 19th Century copy / re-engraving of an earlier map from 1748. Overall good antique condition with folds as issued and a small tear on left side. Foxing/toning in upper corners. Measures approximately 12.5 x 13.25 inches.
