This hand colored antique French map, drawn by Victor Adam, was originally published around 1850 in the Universite de France's Atlas Universel Historique et Geographique compose de Cent une Cartes Donnant Les Differentes Divisions et Modifications Territoriales des Diverses Nations aux Principales Epoques de Leur Histoire avec Notice Sur Tous les Faits Importants, et L'indication des Lieux ou ils se Sont Passes Destine a Faciliter la Lecture et L'intelligence de Tous les Ouvrages Historiques et Redige D'Apres Les Meilleures Sources Par A. Houze, Membre de la Societe de Geographie, etc. In English, this map's title is roughly translated to: Map of the Sharing the of Earth to the Three Sons of Noah in the year of the World in 1657 BC. J. C. 2347. It shows Europe as well as the Middle Eastern nations, and part of Africa and Asia. French text at bottom gives details and provides a key to the color coding. It is in good antique condition with moderate toning, foxing, burn from engraving on opposite page, and rough edges at bottom border. This map measures approximately 13.5 x 10.25 inches.
