Antique printed color page with four astronomical diagrams showing "a cut section of the sun showing the spots, the luminous atmosphere, and the opake body of the sun", "spots on the sun", "remarkable spots that have been discovered upon the sun", and "transits of Mercury & Venus until the year 1900". Published in Asa Smith's "Illustrated Astronomy", 1849. Very good overall antique condition with some toning of the paper, a few spots of foxing/soiling in the margins, and some roughing of the outer edges of the paper which heaviest at the bottom right. Image measures approximately 9.75" x 8.25", and page measures approx. 11.5" x 9.5" overall.
