Antique hand colored map of New York City by Colton, 1887, with inset of the Plan of the Northern Portion of the City of New York including the 24th ward and Woodlawn Cemetery, this late-19th century plan of Manhattan delineates the layout of the new Central Park in green, with labeled gates and attractions like the museum and menagerie, the woman's gate, the all saints gate, and the ramble; also shows the midtown distributing reservoir, Madison Square, and many other land marks that have changed in the more than 100 years since this map was published. Fair antique condition, light water damage mostly outside border, paper is slightly wavy and toned overall, map is splitting at seam but is archivally taped on back, approx. 16 x 25.5 inches. **SOLD**
