This antique, hand-colored map was originally published in the 1872 "New Topographical Atlas of the State of Pennsylvania with Descriptions Historical, Scientific, and Statistical," by Walling and Gray. This map shows counties, major cities, geological formations, and details railroad stations and post offices. Westmoreland County includes the towns of Allegheny, Bell, Cook, Derry, Donegal, East Huntingdon, Fairfield, Hempfield, Ligonier, Loyalhanna, Mount Pleasant, North Huntingdon, Penn, Rostraver, Salem, Sewickley, South Huntingdon, St. Clair, Unity, Upper Burrell, and Washington. Fayette County includes the towns of Brownsville, Bullskin, Connellsville, Dunbar, Franklin, Georges, German, Henry Clay, Jefferson, Lower Tyrone, Luzerne, Menallen, Nicholson, North Union, Perry, Redstone, Saltlick, South Union, Springfield, Springhill, Stewart, Upper Tyrone, Washington, and Wharton. This map is in very good antique condition overall, with some minor toning and foxing. Very slight water stain at lower left corner. It measures approximately 17.5 x 14 inches.
