Antique hand-colored map of Staffordshire, a landlocked county in the West Midlands of England, by Robert Morden, first published in 1695 and again in 1722. This map is undated and it is unclear in which edition of Camden's "Britannia: Or a Chorographical Description of Great Britain and Ireland Together with the Adjacent Islands..." this map was published. It shows towns, villages, country estates, roads, and more. Topographic information is depicted pictorially. Elegant hand coloring and a handsome cartouche. Good to very good condition with some minor damage at the paper edges including paper loss in the lower right. Other minor signs of age, such as toning. Tape on top edge from prior framing. Center fold as issued. Measures approx. 17 x 14.5 inches to the neatline.
