1696
Maker: Jaillot
Antique map of Brittany, by Alexis-Hubert Jaillot, 1696. This rare edition was produced with a title in Latin above the map and a title in French in the cartouche. From the Atlas Francais, these maps were made with a dedication to the Duke of Burgundy. Other editions were published with a wide variety of dedications. The title translates to "A New and Accurate map of Brittany for the use of the Most Serene Duke of Burgundy". This map is in good antique condition, with uneven toning and some vertical folds that might be able to be flattened with some effort, or restoration. Framed. The framing does not appear to be archival and the map should be reframed, therefore if it is purchased online, it will be shipped unframed. This map has not yet been removed from the frame and may be attached to a board- please contact us if you are interested and wish to know for sure. It measures approx. 18 x 24 inches to the neatline. Please forgive the small amounts of glare on the glass in the photos.
