Antique blue back nautical chart published by James Imray & Son in 1889 with corrections to 1890. This chart is part of a series of charts used to navigate the western route to China for the China Trade. It shows the South of China including Hong Kong (named as Hong-Kong), Southern Taiwan, and the northern Philippines including Luzon, Manilla, Mindoro, and part of Panay. A previous owner who used the chart has plotted some courses in pencil. This chart was bound at the edges with fabric, which has protected the edges of the chart. Tightly rolled. Very good condition with some mild stains mostly at the bottom edge, some slight tears, and other minor signs of age. This chart appears to have been professionally restored. It will frame beautifully but may require some flattening.
