Antique page of Dutch dike diagrams by Jansz. L. Schenk, 1776. Significant storms during the winter of 1775-1776 caused damage to some of the dikes, and thus plans for repairs were created. The diagrams on the left show the water level at oridinry low and high water, as well as the storm surge of 1775, with the new dikes planned to be significantly higher than the level of the storm surge. On the right, a description of the project and the expected costs of each phase are outlined, along with a diagram of the work to be done. Very good restored condition, this page has been professionally cleaned and backed. It retains some signs of ages including some mild stains. Measures approx. 15.25 x 21 inches to the neatline.
