Antique double-sided sheet from Tunison's Peerless Universal Atlas of the World, c. 1888 by H.C. Tunison. The two-page centerfold is a map of the United States. There are two prints on the back: on one side is a map of the US showing the newly created time zones as well as state seals, on the other side are illustrations of notable government buildings in Washington DC, such as the Capitol, the White House, Mount Vernon, the Patent Office, the Post Office, etc. Vibrant original color. Fair to good antique condition with some minor stains and smudges, and some small wrinkles. The strike on some pages in this atlas is a bit faint. Centerfold measures approx. 14 x 22 inches to the paper edges, while back side pages measure approx. 14 x 11 inches.
