Antique engraved map of the United States and Territories, 1830's, with outline color. Fascinating early US map with Texas as a Republic (1836 to 1846) and the "District du l'Oregon" stretching far north to encompass Vancouver and more, showing the extent of US claims in the area, also expressed in Polk's popular slogan "Fifty-four forty or fight!" The boundary dispute was settled in the Oregon Treaty of 1846. Very good overall antique condition, 7.75 x 10 inches.
