Maker: The Times
Antique map of the Balkan Peninsula from The Times Atlas, published by "The Times" in 1900. The map gives a look at the peninsula as it was at the time, showing the borders of the Turkish Empire, East Rumelia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, the Kingdom of Greece, Rumania (Romania), Servia (Serbia), Crete (Candia) and the Principality of Montenegro. An inset map is included, showing a more detailed look at Crete (or Candia) and highlighting districts where the Mohammedan population had been greater in number and influence. City names are scaled to the size of the population, and include such cities as Bukarest, Sofia, Prizren, Constantinople, and Athens. Good antique condition, with minor foxing in the margins and original printed color. Measure approximately 19.5 inches by 14.5, as measured to the neatline. There is a slight sheen from the lighting at the center- it is just from the light and there are no issues with the printing. We can take another photo on request.
