Antique map of the east portion, or riding, of Yorkshire, England, by Robert Morden, first published in 1695 and again in 1722. This map is from the 1722 edition of Camden's "Britannia: Or a Chorographical Description of Great Britain and Ireland Together with the Adjacent Islands..." The term "ridings" refers to the three divisions of Yorkshire. Map shows towns, villages, roads, and more. Topographic information is depicted pictorially. Handsome cartouche. Very good condition with minor signs of age, such as toning and some slight image loss in the borders. Center fold as issued. Measures approx. 14 x 16.5 inches to the neatline. This map appears to have been restored (cleaned, flattened) by a previous owner.
