Antique map of Northumberland, in North East England, by Robert Morden, first published in 1695 and again in 1722. This map is from the 1722 edition of Camden's "Britannia: Or a Chorographical Description of Great Britain and Ireland Together with the Adjacent Islands..." Map shows towns, villages, roads, and more. Topographic information is depicted pictorially. Impressive cartouche with a "grotesque" or map face. Very good condition with minor signs of age, such as toning and some slight image loss in the borders. Center fold as issued. Measures approx. 16.5 x 14 inches to the neatline. This map appears to have been restored (cleaned, flattened) by a previous owner.
