Antique pictorial map of Germany by Riemer and published by Reichsbahn Headquarters for German Travel in 1935. This is the English version (there was also a German version, French version, Dutch version, and possibly other languages). The map highlights the many cities around the country with cartoon illustrations of people at work and leisure. An inset map in the lower right shows Germany's position within Europe along with flags of the country at the time. Vibrant original printed color. This folding map was issued to encourage travel and tourism. On the back side is text extolling Germany's virtues and methods of travel along with a map of Germany's road and railroad systems. A fascinating look at the country on the eve of war, and yet also a charming and light-hearted map. Measures approx. 23.25 x 32 inches to the paper edges.
