Antique map of northern-central Germany, from Hamburg in the north to Gottigen in the south and from Osnabruck in the west to Magdeburg in the east, published by Herman Moll circa 1730. The map is dedicated to King George I, who was the first British monarch of the House of Hanover. Inset maps of the Duche of Saxon Lauwenburg and the route of King George from Hanover to Greenwich. Stunning and highly decorative cartouche. Original hand-coloring. Includes many cities, such as Luneburg, Bremen, Zell, as well as towns, rivers, woods, marshes, and more. Two joined sheets. Good antique condition with overall toning, some light foxing throughout, a horizontal fold, some small tears at the paper edges. Currently framed in an old frame. If purchased online, it will ship without the frame. Price remains the same with or without frame. Measures approx. 23.75 x 39.75 inches to the neatline and 26 x 42 inches with the frame.
