Black and white antique chart fragment, circa 1700, showing the coast of England, from the Wash to Hastings on the English Channel. Includes the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Kent and Sussex with the River Thames to London. Text in Dutch. Numerous rhumb lines (a rhumb line is a navigational path that crosses all lines of longitude at the same constant angle- by following a rhumb line, a traveler can navigate with a fixed compass bearing without ever having to adjust their heading). Overall very good condition, small brown stain middle right, matted, approx. 22.75 x 13.75 inches.
