Antique map of the Department of Seine-et-Marne, France in the mid-19th century, which includes Fontainebleau Forest and shows Paris off to the west, from the "Atlas National Illustre des 86 Departments et des Possessions de la France, Divise par Arrondissements, Cantons et Communea, by Levasseur", c. 1850. Surrounded by exquisitely detailed engraved illustrations and vignettes of regional commerce and personalities, as well as statistical and general information.
Seine-et-Marne is a department in the Île-de-France region in Northern France. The major communes are: Meaux, Chelles, Melun, Pontault-Combault, Savigny-le-Temple, Bussy-Saint-Georges, Champs-sur-Marne, Villeparisis, Dammarie-lès-Lys, and Roissy-en-Brie.
Very good overall antique condition with mild toning throughout, and some minor wrinkling of the paper, as well as some very minor edge wear. Measures approximately 11.25" x 16.5" (H x W) to the neatline.
