Includes an inset map showing the area of an earthquake on the Rhine in 1846, a sketch showing the volacoes of the globe divided into four systems, and a comparison of the heights of volcanoes. Engraved by J Dower. From A Descriptive Atlas of Astronomy and of Physical and Political Geography by the Rev. Thomas Milner, maps by Augustus Petermann, and published by William S. Orr & Co, 1850. Very good condition with some minor signs of age, such as spots, toning. Tight margin. Page measures approx. 9.25 x 12 inches.
