Antique black and white nautical chart by the Hydrographic Office of the U.S. Navy, Sheets 1 and 2 from 1868, corrected to 1870, showing the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the St. Lawrence River, part of the coast of Labrador, Newfoundland, Cape Breton Island, Prince Edward Island, coastal Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada, and the northeastern coast of the United States, from Cape Cod Bay to St. Michael's Bay, Labrador. Includes insets of the Gut of Canso and Chedabuctou Bay between northeast Nova Scotia and southeast Cape Breton, as well as an inset of George's Shoals, now known as George's Bank. With soundings, light houses, and notes on bottom and other conditions unique to specific areas and anchorages. Chart has been restored and rebacked with linen, very good condition with some overall toning and spots consistent with use aboard a vessel, measures approx. 37.5 x 51.5 inches. **NOTE- because this map requires extra insurance for shipping, an additional charge will appear on your card after your original purchase.
