Celestial map from the French version of the Astronomischer Bilder Atlas, from Wilhelm Nitzschke, 1862. The translation of the title is: "The Earth and its Atmosphere." This is a "Hold-to-Light". When held up to a light or a window, the volcanic erutions appear illuminated. Backed with two small pieces of yellow parchment. Good to very good antique condition with some foxing and minor surface soil, 9.25 x 11.5 inches to the paper edges. **SOLD**
