Antique hand colored map of New York City by Colton, 1858, with inset of the Continuation of the City and County of New York, depicting Harlem; this mid-19th century plan of Manhattan delineates the layout of the brand new Central Park in green just one year after it was opened; also shows the midtown distributing reservoir and Crystal Palace at the site of present-day New York Public Library's main branch at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. Very good overall antique condition with minor toning and very minor spotting, approx. 16 x 25.5 inches.
