High quality reproduction print of a rare, 1895 lithographed folding map of the Adirondack Mountains in New York produced in the late 19th century by S.R. Stoddard. He produced this map in various years and apparently made many changes to the map- this is one of the rare maps to show the Adirondack Park outlined and labeled in a vibrant pink. When this was published, pink was considered more of a "boy's color" because it was the lighter version of red, a "man's color" whereas women and girls' color was blue (this is why Mary in Christianity is often shown in blue). Shows towns, villages, lakes, rivers, mountains, railroads, wagon roads, steamboat routes, proposed roads, telegraph offices, with decorative border, 31.5 x 25.7 inches. Measured to the edges of the printed area. Paper may be larger but can be trimmed as needed.
