Genuine Antique Hand Colored Wall Map

Maker: Walling.

Antique hand colored wall map of Barnstable County, published in 1856 by H.F. Walling. With inset maps of Hyannis, Osterville, Barnstable Village, and Cotuit Port and Cotuit Highland. With roads, public areas, and property owner's names. Only two Cape Cod towns had wall maps made (Sandwich and Barnstable) and this map pre-dates the well known 1858 Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties wall map by 2 years. Very good restored condition- archivally cleaned, deacidified. This map is backed with linen and hung on wooden rods with silk ribbon on edges. Approx. 32 x 27 inches to the neatline and approx. 36 x 34 overall including the wooden rods. **NOTE- because this map requires extra insurance for shipping, an additional charge will appear on your card after your original purchase. If you would like to know what that charge will be, please contact us.**
