Antique map of Salem as it was in 1692, by William Phineas Upham, published in 1866. This map was created as the frontispiece for Charles Wentworth Upham's two-volume 1867 "Salem Witchcraft, With an Account of Salem Village and a History of Opinions on Witchcraft and Kindred Spirits." This map notes the homes of many of the prominent people in Salem during the witchcraft trials. Handwritten additions in pencil and pen on the left side. This map is framed- we have not yet removed it from its frame to inspect it but we are happy to do so on request. Please note that additional shipping charge for framed piece will apply. The map appears to be in good to very good condition with some seam separations at folds and some discoloration on right side. Matted to 10.75 x 13.75 with no neatline visible. Total size with frame is approx. 18.25 x 21.25 inches.
