The Oread Institute was a women's college founded in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1849 by Eli Thayer. Before its closing in 1934, it was one of the oldest institutions of higher education for women in the United States. With roads, railroads, businesses, and buildings with property owners' names. A key explains the colors and symbols. Good antique condition with some light water stains and some tears at the paper edges. Measures approx. 16.25 x 26 inches to the neatline.
