Rare and unusual antique Cape Cod map circa 1940. This map is undated and has no artist or publication information. We have been unable to locate an identical map anywhere, however it is similar to a map published by Ernest Dudley Chase in 1949. The 1949 map includes the islands, but this map has a rope border that proves the islands were never included on this map. Due to the tight margin at bottom, we have speculated that this was possibly issued with something at the bottom that was later cut off (perhaps an advertisement or calendar). Very good antique condition with mild toning, some small tears (paper is fragile), tight margins. Measures approx. 13 x 16.5 inches to the rope border and 13.5 x 17.25 inches to the paper edges.
