Antique uncolored map of the Middle East, by Daniel Stoopendaal, c. 1700. From the Dutch so-called ' Staten' bibles, published between 1637 and c. 1760, this map depicts the 'Wandering of the Children Israel' showing the route taken by the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan. The lower portion features different episodes of the Wandering, especially the receipt of the Tables of the Law (Ten Commandments) by Moses. Good to very good condition with some spots and stains, mostly in the margins, two small worm holes at top center, and slight seam separation in margin on lower right. With center fold as issued and additional folds. Approx. 14 x 18.25 inches to the neatline. CSMTAW **SOLD**
