Antique print of a Rohria armata, now known as Berkheya armata. Berkheya armata is a thistle species commonly known as "armed Berkheya" or "Grootdissel" in South Africa. The name "Rohria armata" was used by the botanist P. Vahl in 1793. This print is from an unknown 18th century publication. Copperplate print with original hand-coloring. Very good antique condition with some tiny spots. Measures approx. 11 x 8.75 inches to the paper edges.
