Maker: Paxton's Magazine
Antique print of a passionflower, now known as Passiflora pinnatistipula, published in Joseph Paxton’s Magazine of Botany, and Register of Flowering Plants, Volume 1, 1834. "Seeds sent from Peru in 1829 and flowered in Mrs Charlotte Marryat's Parkside garden in Wimbledon." Commonly known as poro poro or gulupa (Colombia), it is a climbing perennial that grows in the Cajamarca region of Peru. Lithograph with vibrant original hand-coloring. Very good antique condition with some mild toning and slight signs of age. Measures approx. 12 x 9 inches to the paper edges.
