Antique black and white coast chart of the area near the mouth of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina, with Bald Head Island (including Bald Head Light) and a portion of Oak Island. Includes sounding information. Published by the U.S. Senate, as a Congressional record, 1853. Very good antique condition with mild toning of the paper, some darker toning/soiling along the center fold, a few spots of very minor foxing/soiling, and some mild seam separation at the top of the center fold. With folds, as issued. Measures approximately 7.75" x 10.25" to the neatline, with very tight margins along the left side as well as at the top right of the page where the map extends beyond the neatline.
