Charming antique map of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, by Elliot Noel Burwell, 1911 and updated to June 18, 1913. First edition was 1907. This delightful map has a hand-drawn quality that was copied directly from the author's original map. It was made by Mr. Burwell, who clearly had significant knowledge of navigating around the lake, and who provides prolific information for safe passage in all of the nooks and crannies of the lake. North is oriented to the upper left. Backed on canvas, this was likely intended to be used on a boat while out on the lake. Fair to good antique condition. It has wrinkling throughout, toning on the left side into the map, edge wear that can be hidden with a mat when framing (or appreciated for its character), and holes on the left that appear to be binding holes. Some spots on the left side seem to be rust. Measures approx. 17 x 21.75 inches to the neatline.
