Antique hand-colored map of part of Rumson, New Jersey, centered on Rumson Road. Published in Wolverton's Atlas of Monmouth County, New Jersey, 1889. Includes points of interest, as well as steam railroads, streetcars, water mains, and the names of some property owners at the time of publication. Buildings are colored to indicate their construction material type (stone, brick, or frame,) and marked to indicate if they are a residence/business, or a barn/stable, etc. Center fold, as issued. Very good antique condition with some wrinkling and toning, which are mainly concentrated at the outer edges of the paper, a few spots of foxing/staining within the map area, and various notes of information written by a previous owner, some in pencil and some in ink. Map extends beyond the neatline at both sides of the map, extending into the outer edge of the paper. Measures approximately 18.25" x 27.25" to the neatline.
