Antique hand-colored map of part of Deal, New Jersey, on the Jersey Shore. Published in Wolverton's Atlas of Monmouth County, New Jersey, 1889. Includes points of interest, as well as steam railroads, streetcars, water mains, and the names of some property owners at the time of publication. Buildings are colored to indicate their construction material type (stone, brick, or frame,) and marked to indicate if they are a residence/business, or a barn/stable, etc. Center fold, as issued. Very good antique condition with some wrinkling and toning, which are mainly concentrated at the outer edges of the paper, a few spots of minor foxing/staining, and some notes by a previous owner, some written in pencil and some in ink. Very tight margins on both sides of the map, with the right side extending to the outer edges of the paper. Measures approximately 18.25" x 28.25" to the neatline.
