Antique hand-colored map of part of Freehold, New Jersey. Published in Wolverton's Atlas of Monmouth County, New Jersey, 1889. Includes points of interest, as well as steam railroads, streetcars, water mains, and the names of some property owners at the time of publication. Buildings are colored to indicate their construction material type (stone, brick, or frame,) and marked to indicate if they are a residence/business, or a barn/stable, etc. Includes the Ladies Seminary, the Freehold Institute, canning factory, etc. Center fold, as issued. Very good antique condition with some wrinkling and toning, which are mainly concentrated at the outer edges of the paper, and a few spots of minor foxing/staining, as well as some notes written in pencil by a previous owner. Measures approximately 18.25" x 27.25" to the neatline.
