Genuine Antique Map

c. 1630-1640

Maker: H. Hondius.

Antique map of part of Belgium by H. Hondius, Baptista Doetecomius sculp., c. 1630-1640. Hainaut, historically also known as Heynowes in English, is a province of Wallonia and Belgium. This map includes Cambray (France), Mons, Tournai, Ath, Chimay, and many other towns. Forests, rivers, and roads are detailed. This map has been archivally restored- cleaned, deacidified, and backed. It retains some signs of age including toning, minor spots/stains and edge wear but should look very good when framed. Verso is blank. Measures approx. 14.75 x 19.25 inches.
