Matted antique map of early North America by Abraham Rees, published in "The Cyclopedia or Universal Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and Literature," 1806. Shows topographical details, including the Rocky Mountains (which are labeled as the "Stony Mountains".) Some Native American settlement areas are labeled. East and West Florida before Spain ceceded both Floridas to the US. Also shows the Louisiana Purchase only a few years after it was made and before the new information from the Lewis and Clark expedition was known. Very good condition with some very mild foxing of the antique paper. Matted to measure approximately 14" x 19.75".
