From an 1878 atlas by Charles H. Hitchcock, the New Hampshire State Geologist, one of the five huge colored plates depicting New Hampshireâ ‚¬ „¢s topography marked with features resulting from glaciation, this one in the northeast portion of the state; pre-dating the earliest USGS topographic maps of New Hampshire/NH, the atlas was the first comprehensive map of the Granite Stateâ ‚¬ „¢s bedrock and surficial geology; also shows late 19th century towns and roads. Very good overall antique condition, some minor foxing and a few very minor margin stains, map area measures approx. 24 x 20.5 inches, full sheet measures 33 x 24.5 inches.
