Maker: Daniel de La Feuille.
This is a specialty reproduction of a very rare 1706 map of Italy by Daniel de La Feuille with Provence in the west to Serbia and the Island of Corfu in the east; north as far as Switzerland and south as far as Sicily. Includes the islands of Corsica and Sardinia. Shows the Italian peninsula and surrounding areas in considerable detail. The main map is surrounded by inset 15 maps of Gennes, Parme (Parma), Ancone, Lorette, Naples, Verone (Verona), Florence (Firenze), Rome, Venice, Milan, Mantoue (Mantua), Pavie, Ferrare, Platsance and Bolobne. This map was originally prepared for inclusion as chart no. 40 in the 1706 edition of De la Feuille's Les Tablettes Guerrières, ou Cartes choisies Pour la Commodité des Officiers et des Voyageurs, Contenant toutes les Cartes générales Du Monde, avec les particulieres des Lieux ou le Théatre de la Guerre se fait sentir en Europe. Made using a combination of modern technology and traditional methods, wherein an original is scanned, its likeness is digitally etched onto an engraving plate, then the plate is used to print the image in the traditional way, with a printing press. Finally, this map has been hand colored by a professional artist. Measures approximately 8"h x 10"w. For other reproductions made in this method, please see the left side bar category "Digitally Engraved Specialty Reproductions".
